After spending many years in the freshwater aquarium hobby, I decided to move to marine aquarium hobby, especially the coral and invertebrate side, eventually ending up in the coral propagation business with 2 frag tanks specialising in Zoanthids and LPS.
After a few months buying racks and plugs online that where over priced, I started to think about how I could manufacture a quality rack at a low cost and mass produce a frag plug. I looked into many manufacturing processes and found 3d printed to be the best option.
With the development of a food and reef safe plastic in the last couple of years, that comes in a large variety of colours it seemed the way to go. So biting the bullet I invested in a couple of 3d printer's and some design software and got to work.
